The goal of the proposed extended program ESP+ is to ensure the delivery of quality seed of new, improved, and adapted varieties to one million farming household across the country for food security, nutrition, and resilience to shocks and stresses. ESP+ is implementing in Tigray, Oromia, Afar, Benishangul-Gumuz, and Somali regions, which are more prone to shocks and stresses. The program will have four components that are Private sector development, Innovation &amp;empowerment, Seed Insecurity Response, and Enabling seed sector transformation. Mercy Corps Ethiopia will be leading the third component of the program that mainly deals with Responding to seed insecurity. The ESP+ program will be implemented over four years period from 2024-2027.</p>\n\n<p><strong>General Position Summary</strong></p>\n\n<p>The regional Seed Insecurity Response coordinator is responsible for the overall planning, implementing, coaching, and monitoring, reporting of the Program intervention in the targeted Woredas of the region. S/he is also responsible for stakeholder management for engagements, strengthening B2B networks, technical capacity of the beneficiaries, strengthening the informal seed system through deploying improved varieties, local seed business through supporting innovation fund/business development, ensuring seed emergence response for purpose, and strengthening the regulatory provision of seed systems. S/he reports to the Program Manager. The key role and responsibilities of the position is summarized as follows.</p>\n\n<p><strong>Essential Job</strong> <strong>Responsibilities</strong></p>\n\n<ul>\n<li>Mapping key stakeholders, including humanitarian and development partners who directly support food security, engagements for collective action towards resiliently responding to seed insecurity in shocks/stress-prone targeted areas.</li>\n<li>Actively participate in annual planning, implementation, monitoring of each intervention, reporting.</li>\n<li>Identifying the existing seed systems, particularly local seed business owners and community-based seed banks, and assessing their strengths, weakness, and areas of their support.</li>\n<li>Participating, facilitating, and coaching region context, and Seed Security Systems (SSS) assessments in collaboration with other humanitarian, and development actors.</li>\n<li>Facilitating and organizing technical capacity training, workshops, evaluation events, field days, Food for Progress has two high-level strategic objectives: (1) increase agricultural productivity, and (2) expand trade of agricultural products (domestically, regionally, and internationally.&nbsp;The FFPr project in Ethiopia is expected to be five years, with a start date around October 1, 2025.</p>\n\n<p><strong>The Position</strong></p>\n\n<p>The DCOP will be experienced in a broad spectrum of technical focus areas with responsibility for overseeing program implementation. The DCOP will work closely with different departments and support functions to ensure effective program coordination and implementation, monitoring and evaluation, quality assurance and accountability. The DCOP will also work directly with partner agencies to achieve objectives of the program. The program will benefit 43,540 individuals, focusing on IDPs, returnee women, youth and marginalized groups. It uses a conflict-sensitive, systems-strengthening, climate-smart and inclusive approach to enhance systems that support economic recovery. The expected outcomes include resilient livelihoods, improved access to financial products and services, and enhanced capacity to mitigate protection risks.<br>ER-CAP aims to improve the economic condition of conflict-affected communities by strengthening MSMEs, improving crop and livestock value chains, and providing income-generating opportunities. It aims to improve the economic adaptation, protection, and recovery of conflict-affected populations in three regions: Afar (Abaala), Tigray (Mekelle), and Amhara (Woldiya). The program will benefit 43,540 individuals, focusing on IDPs, returnee women, youth and marginalized groups. It uses a conflict-sensitive, systems-strengthening, climate-smart and inclusive approach to enhance systems that support economic recovery. The expected outcomes include resilient livelihoods, improved access to financial products and services, and enhanced capacity to mitigate protection risks.  ER-CAP aims to improve the economic condition of conflict-affected communities by strengthening MSMEs, improving crop and livestock value chains, and providing income-generating opportunities. It includes providing affordable financial products and technology through partnerships with financial service providers, conducting GESI dialogues, and identifying business ideas for economic activities in displacement settings.</h5>\n\n<h5><strong>Position Summary</strong></h5>\n\n<h5>The MSD Project Coordinator will provide overall coordination and management for a Market Systems Development (MSD) project across three designated regions (Mekele, Abala and Woldiya). The coordinator will lead the process of in-depth market assessment, develop innovative market-based interventions, business model development and efficient implementation of interventions. This role will ensure effective implementation of project activities, maintain strong relationships with partners and stakeholders, and ensure alignment with project goals and donor requirements. By improving awareness of existing conflict dynamics and conflict risks while enhancing HDP contributions to peacebuilding outcomes, through better policies and operations, the Hub aims to play a critical role in supporting sustainable peace and development in the country. Building on best practices from other conflict sensitivity hubs globally while adapting to the Ethiopian context, the ECSH will focus on three foundational pillars: generating high-quality research and analysis to inform programming, building capacity among stakeholders to integrate conflict sensitivity into organizational practices, and convening diverse actors to enhance collaboration and coherence. The ECSH is an impartial entity that will be hosted by Mercy Corps with support from a consortium of partners, including Rift Valley Institute. The Specialist will oversee the monitoring and data collection of the project, co-lead outcome harvest exercises, design and implement surveys, research, analyze data to provide insight to the project team, and contribute to lead on report writing. He/she will ensure that performance monitoring and results reporting tools and processes across the entire project are in place, effectively implemented and well systematized among consortium/partner members. They will also be responsible for information management via the project reporting system including Tola data (Mercy Corps’ proprietary indicators tracking system). The MEL Specialist will be an integral member of the project team leading and reflecting processes, leading discussions on members’ and participant’s feedback. By improving awareness of existing conflict dynamics and conflict risks while enhancing HDP contributions to peacebuilding outcomes, through better policies and operations, the Hub aims to play a critical role in supporting sustainable peace and development in the country. Building on best practices from other conflict sensitivity hubs globally while adapting to the Ethiopian context, the ECSH will focus on three foundational pillars: generating high-quality research and analysis to inform programming, building capacity among stakeholders to integrate conflict sensitivity into organizational practices, and convening diverse actors to enhance collaboration and coherence. The ECSH is an impartial entity that will be hosted by Mercy Corps with support from a consortium of partners, including Rift Valley Institute. Its work will be guided by a collaborative governance structure and multi-donor funding to ensure inclusivity and alignment with Ethiopia’s peacebuilding needs. Joining this team is an exciting opportunity to be part of the setup of an innovative initiative that will address conflict risks and strengthen peacebuilding efforts across Ethiopia</p>\n<p><strong>General Position Summary </strong></p>\n<p>The MEL specialist will collaborate closely with the consortium partner lead on MEL, Adapt Peacebuilding (AP). The Specialist will oversee the monitoring and data collection of the project, co-lead outcome harvest exercises, design and implement surveys, research, analyze data to provide insight to the project team, and contribute to lead on report writing. He/she will ensure that performance monitoring and results reporting tools and processes across the entire project are in place, effectively implemented and well systematized among consortium/partner members. They will also be responsible for information management via the project reporting system including Tola data (Mercy Corps’ proprietary indicators tracking system). The MEL Specialist will be an integral member of the project team leading and reflecting processes, leading discussions on members’ and participant’s feedback. The Specialist in collaboration with AP will also be responsible for the capacity building and mentoring strategy for program staff on themes related to monitoring, evaluation, accountability, reporting, and learning. The MEL Specialist is expected to collaborate with Adapt Peacebuilding especially regarding complex-aware, adaptive MEL approaches aimed at capturing emergent changes and interrogating causal linkages
